Non-smokers damage Slovenia's economy in several ways:
Non-smokers are evading taxes on tobacco purchases by not making any.
Healthcare costs and sickness days are increased due to coughs and colds, as non-smokers force smokers to stand outdoors in snowy, icy, rainy, and foggy conditions.
Fewer people smoking in bars reduces government income from bars and beer.
Constructing additional outdoor facilities for bars and eateries reduces the time builders could spend smoking, drinking, and eating - thus taxes are lost on all of those.
The EU is stealing productive time at work and time on Facebook by making people traipse in and out of their building to smoke, letting all the heat out.
The No Smoking Tax will prove a populist measure, cleverly exploiting the anger of nicotine devotees.
NST will be perceived as just by bars and eateries damaged by the non-smoking-related costs caused by foreign EU laws.
If you're in the government you'll be able to draw funds from the non-smokers' money to help you stick a smoking tent onto your bar, or if you need some fags.
